It’s me, Monty the cocker spaniel, left with the blog. Sian’s gone off to see some Mikey Bubble singer guy in Dublin and has left me in charge for the weekend. Max won’t sit still for a minute and Morgan is still too young to spell properly so it’s left to me. Oh, there are Purdy and Bruce, the cats, but they are cats so can’t write….right?
Our home is called The Dog House because it’s our house…doh!! Sian lives here with us and we really like that because she feeds us, gives us cuddles and treats plus takes us for walks on the beach and through the fields. Because Sian’s ok we let her sleep in our massive bed and sit on our sofa and chairs. And it’s great when she invites her friends around because they really spoil us too – especially Auntie Mel.
Anyhow, I’ve heard we may be having our own type of friends, ie dogs, to stay sometime soon so thought I should just have a little quiet word here. We had Goldie staying a while ago and she was lovely. Goldie is quite a bit older than us so we were quieter around her at first but then she told us that we made her feel younger so that didn’t last long. Besides whenever Sian threw the ball or stick Goldie was always the first to get it. We could never work out how she did that but maybe as she had so many more years of practice she knew which way the stick was going and of course we still don’t have a clue and run in the wrong direction! Must be something you learn with age.
We love other dogs coming to visit; the neighbours pop down now and then – Daisy, Rocky and Rambo – and we have a great laugh. There is plenty of room here and visiting dogs can even have their own bedroom with a mattress and blankets and everything. Sian will even make your bed up every morning – she’s good like that. If you’re well-behaved (like us) you can be off the lead and run around the garden too but if not it’s no problem as you can take Sian out holding the lead loads of times.
There are loads of fields around here so we get a lovely long walk every morning and sometimes we go to the local beach too and chase the birds. They are such annoying flapping things!! We get to swim in the sea too which we love doing. We normally only go to the beach on weekends but when Goldie was visiting we went weekdays too so if we have more visitors maybe we’ll go more often. 🙂
Ok, the cats!! Well Bruce is just like a dog and great for playing rumble tumble and chase with. Beware though because he chases you back when you’re least expecting it. You also have to watch him because he eats our food. Alhough sometimes we nick his too.
Now Purdy is another story. She is a Princess and doesn’t like anyone apart from Sian and that’s debatable sometimes. If Purdy is around we just ignore her now. Although sometimes we’re naughty and chase her but wow cats sure can jump high!!
We’d love dog friends to stay and enjoy our wonderful lifestyle here too. People keep saying we have no idea how lucky we are but it’s our house and we can do as we want so we don’t understand how life could be any different.
Gotta go, Max is tugging my ear to go and play with him. Guess it’s a dog’s life!!
